Architecture is a silent witness of cultural, scientific and artistic development as well as social movements, conflicts and migrations.
The traces of these mutations and revolutions persist permanently on the surfaces of protected buildings and monuments, but they can also be erased or transformed by big urban interventions.
Photography is a powerful way to preserve cities’ public memories, documenting social and political phases, giving a voice and an identity to buildings that were theatres and stages for victories, defeats, and rebellions and that however stand on the ground as scars we got used to.
Slav Postcards tells stories set in big cities of former Yugoslavia during the XX Century through architectures that witnessed historical changes and social and economic revolutions.
